- Goat Food
While goats have a very varied diet in the wild and even when kept within a restricted area. Their feeding regimen should always include some dried grain mix (or with molasses) especially in winter. It often happens that there is insufficient food to satisfy a hungry goat and in wet and cold summers when good hay is in short supply they can plead for food. Always keep a bag of nutritious goat food on hand as a treat or as a daily supplement especially if they eat the straw bedding to fill them up. Goats do not really like grass - although they will eat it - and never mowed grass because it is not good for them. They will eat a range of foliage and tree bark if you let them. Always watch out for laurel, privet and dry ragwort because these are killers.
